Meet The Team

Dr Jenny Clay BVSc PgC(SAM) MRCVS

Owner and lead vet

Jenny has been a vet for 12 years, and lives locally with her partner Jethro and their young daughter.

“I am so lucky to be able say that I LOVE my job. I have a post graduate certificate in small animal internal medicine, and am at my happiest working up a complicated medical case. There is no better feeling than discharging a patient home after treatment.

“I enjoy all areas of general practice, and can be seen in the consulting room as well as out the back performing diagnostics and operations. I am passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients, and this is the core of what we do here.

“Outside of work being a mum and looking after our pets (Sybil the dog and Chewie the rescue cat) takes up most of my time. When I can I love a coffee with friends, countryside walks and being creative.“

Steve Youngs BVSc CertCHP MRCVS

Owner and business support

Steve qualified as a vet in the early 1990s and has spent most of his professional life working as a farm vet in the Waveney Valley. He’s married to Juliet and they live close to Bungay with their Bedlington terrier, Kumi.

“I have spent nearly my whole life living and working in the Waveney Valley and it’s been a great privilege to help set up a new independent practice close to home. Working as a vet in the local community has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my professional life, and I am keen to foster a happy, positive work place, where all staff feel fulfilled and valued members of the practice team and clients and their pets receive high quality, kind veterinary care. I have got experience of running my own practice for several years and it’s great to help the next generation of vets set up, run and own their own business.

“Away from work my main interest is in local wildlife and natural history, we’re very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country.”

Juliet Lloyd RN BA(hons) MPhil

Owner and business support

Juliet is a qualified nurse practitioner. Originally from North Norfolk she started her career in Devon before moving to New Zealand for several years. Since marrying Steve she has spent the last 20 years living and working here in the Waveney Valley.

“My background is human medicine, but being married to a vet has given me insight into the similarities of human and animal medicine. I understand that pets are important family members and deserve the best care in a kind and understanding environment. I have always enjoyed working as part of team and although I might not be working clinically in the practice, I will be busy behind the scenes, helping to make things run smoothly and supplying homemade cakes to get us through the challenging times. We’ve known Jenny since she saw practice with us when she was still at school, so we know the level of commitment and the dedication she brings to this practice and high level of care she will give to all our patients and loved ones.

“Our children have all left home now, but they know the most important family member, Kumi our Bedlington Terrier, is here by my side for walks along the river valley and the gorgeous beaches along our coastline.”
